Top Tips for Employee Background Checks from Payroll Data

MaryAnn Mancini, owner of Payroll Data Inc, lists three tips on why background screening should be mandatory for any potential employee.

Missoula, MT (PRWEB) May 01, 2017

Background checks help employers protect their reputations and create safe and secure work environments. "Fifty percent of all resumes and applications contain false information and 18 percent of all violent crimes occur in the workplace, which is why a thorough background check on anyone applying for a job is imperative," said MaryAnn Mancini, owner of Payroll Data Inc, a payroll service and timekeeping company that also offers employee background screening.

To further illustrate the importance of background screening, Mancini lists the following three tips:

No. 1: Helps employers make informed decisions. Background screening gives an employer, non-profit organization or property manager circumstantial evidence to draw conclusions and make an informed decision about a person and whether or not they are suitable for the position for which they are applying.

No. 2: Reduces the risk of employee theft, fraud and embezzlement. "Considering the price of a screening, it is very affordable for the value it provides a business," said Mancini. "It is important to note that approximately 33% of all business failures are due to employee theft."

No. 3: Sheds light on criminal behavior. "Background screening illuminates past criminal behavior that can save the company thousands of dollars that might be lost with a bad hire," concluded Mancini. FULL RELEASE
