Attorney Lester Rosen to Present Webinar for American Staffing Association on Background Check Compl

Attorney Lester Rosen, the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Employment Screening Resources® (ESR), will present a live webinar titled “An In-Depth Conversation on Background Check Compliance” on Thursday, January 30, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time for the American Staffing Association (ASA), the voice of the U.S. staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industry.

“Do you spend a great deal of time and effort to ensure that every employee you place is qualified and safe?” Rosen asked during a promotional video for the webinar. “Of course, you do. Hiring and placement decisions, however, are not risk-free, and the steps you take in reducing these risks may carry their own liability if you don’t follow the law when researching and hiring candidates. Well, worry not.”

During this 90-minute webinar, Rosen – the author of “The Safe Hiring Manual” – will discuss the issues that all staffing firms need to be concerned with including the effective use of social media for hiring, legal and proper use of criminal record searches, compliance with “Ban the Box” laws, and avoiding technical violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act to forestall FCRA class action lawsuits. Attendees will learn:

  • What advantages and potential risks there are to using online searches and social media to source candidates.

  • Which issues staffing professionals may face when performing background checks on employees.

  • How to review and audit due diligence practices so their firm stays compliant with the law.

  • Top issues surrounding international background checks. FULL BLOG NOTIFICATION
