CareerBuilder is selling its CareerBuilder Employment Screening business, the Chicago-based company announced last week. It’s being acquired by Accurate Background, a company based in Irvine, California.

Background screening will continue to be provided through CareerBuilder’s “Hello to Hire” program through Accurate Background.

The deal is expected to close toward the end of the first quarter, and it is subject to customary regulatory approvals. Once the acquisition concludes, the integration process will continue throughout 2020, according to Accurate. The combined entity will operate under the Accurate background brand.

Accurate reported CareerBuilder’s employment screening business is complementary and offers background screening and drug-testing services.

Accurate also said the acquisition is being supported by an investment from the Apax Digital Fund, which is advised by private equity firm Apax Partners. ###
